Defining new standard operation procedures (SOPs) in the context of experimental stroke research was the main objective of the consortia’s core animal model project during the first funding phase. A broad representation of experts from all Immunostroke consortium groups performing surgery, met to discuss the issue of varying protocols and agreed all animal procedures should have a single standard operating procedure.
